The MTSU Department of Political Science will hold its annual Mock Trial Tournament on Friday, November 8th, and Saturday, November 9th. With close to seventy collegiate teams from throughout the United States, we will, as usual, host one of the nation's largest invitational tournaments. We are hoping that you will volunteer your time and expertise to serve as a judge for one or more rounds in this nationally recognized program. MTSU mock trial students have achieved tremendous success. Our students have won many regional titles and finished among the top ten teams at most of the national tournaments during the past decade and one-half. Their success would not be possible without your assistance in our autumn tournament.
We cannot overstate the importance of judges and attorneys to the mock trial process. Having their work judged and evaluated by legally trained professionals who bring invaluable tools and experience to an analysis of their performance is so meaningful to mock trial students.
We need judges from 1:00 – 5:10 p.m. and 5:15 - 9:40 p.m. on Friday, November 8th, and from 8:00 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. and 12:15 - 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 10th (see attached tentative schedule). All judges should report to the Business and Aerospace Building Room S126. We hope you can participate in all four rounds, but if that is impossible, judging even one round is a great service. There will be a catered dinner on Friday night, as well as morning refreshments and lunch on Saturday. Once we receive your reply form, we will mail you a Schedule of Events, a parking permit, and campus map.
Please indicate on the attached Judges Reply form whether and how much you will be able to participate and return it to us when possible by email (Pam.Davis@mtsu.edu) or by fax (615-898-5460). We also hope you will solicit your colleagues to help with our effort. Feel free to make copies of the reply form and/or pass along this email invitation.
